We had the best dinner at Loch Bar!
Drinks:
8th Wonder Weissheimer was the winner for best beer!
I had a simple glass of dry Rosé but I'm dying to try their Frozé next time.
The oysters were PHENOMENAL! We ordered a dozen from the seasonal menu.
Then we split a Lobster Roll and burger. FYI this is not a traditional Lobster roll with some sort of Mayo sauce. It's just bread piled high with warm lobster claws and tail meat with a side of fried and melted butter for dipping.
We will definitely be coming back for more soon! -

This place wow-Ed me from when I walked in the door until I left! I have been wanting to try this place out since they have opened and I'm so glad I did!
Upon entering, there was a live band playing and I thought it was a little loud, but it served a great nuance to the evening. I felt like I was in New Orleans - late night jazzy vibe.
After sitting down, we were greeted by our awesome server, Joseph, who was very attentive all night and had a positive, upbeat personality. He made great recommendations and guided us through the menu. I ordered a southside and it was pretty strong but tasty. If you're looking for a nice buzz, order a couple of these and you'll be feeling right!
We started off with the crab dip which consisted of crab meat, Gouda cheese, and served with crostinis, carrots, and celery. Delicious! For entrees, we got the snapper and their famous crab cakes. It was a whole snapper filet and baked with a bisque and rice. Most definitely the best snapper I've ever had. They were both decent sized portions. So much flavor and the stuffing was delectable. Now the crab cakes...pure crab meat - no breading - cooked to perfection. I'm not sure what the sauce (I think it was a remoulade) was that came with it but it was really good also. I didn't have anymore room left for dessert but they looked very promising. We were in a rush to leave and I left my card - the manager followed me all the way to the car to return my credit card. What great, all around service and amazing food!! Y'all nailed it. Can't wait to go back! -

I've been here twice, once for dinner and once for lunch with groups of friends. Each time, the service was top-notch and the food was very good. Each time I've been, a variety of entrees were chosen and each of us kind of shared each other's, and the appetizers were a nice compliment - make sure you get the fried cauliflower and hushpuppies (fat free, no, but very good). I would highly recommend making a reservation.
If you are a bourbon lover, try to get there early and check out the 100 or so bottles of different bourbon - it was a lot of dun discussing the different bourbons with the bartenders and having them recommend something you probably haven't tried based upon other labels you have. You won't be disappointed. -

Everything about this place was spectacular! When my friend asked to meet at Loch Bar, I thought we were going to a bar until I did a search. Yes they have a beautiful bar specializing in whiskey and bourbon, but it IS a restaurant specializing in seafood, but of course has several other options.
Located facing Westheimer in the River Oaks Shopping District. They do have valet, but it is just as easy to park in the free garage. RO is a flashy area, so don't show up in ripped jeans or hats. Jeans are acceptable but make wise choices when dressing then up. Make a reservation just to be safe.
Our server was phenomenal and so spunky! She schooled us on the restaurant. Told us about the restaurant next door and how they are sister restaurants. Same owners. There are several locations from the owners spanning on the East Coast down to Florida. Several different concepts. She said she loved working for the company and NO she didn't know I was going to be writing a review.
Several speciality cocktails but we did settle on dirty martinis. Their blue cheese olives were the bomb! We also ordered oysters. The complimentary bread is to die for. I swore I'd only sample it, but that didn't turn out so well. The menu does change so be advised. We had the Canada Cup selection and they were delicious. The menu states they have one of the best lobster rolls in the nation (hard to believe when half your family lives in Boston), but I decided what the heck, lets see about that....
The roll was amazing! Huge lumps of lobster and fantastic breading! No joke these were great. My friend ordered the scallops and they were amazing as well.
Bar seating as well as tables for two and larger groups. Make a reservation. Bar is open late. Only
Downfall is the music is ridiculously loud. I can't understand why. Anyway Enjoy! -

Been to steak 48 and Bisou, heard abt reviews of the other places like ouza bay, le colonial and mad... then the yelp reviews.
So when I rsvp for a celebration here, I had my doubts.
I'm glad they didn't disappoint. The service from the host to manager was lovely. No attitude, negative, or stuck up vibes. Sorry I don't recall the staffs' name but it was Friday 7pm at 10/4/19. Awesome team.
Nice live jazz music I believe after 9pm? Didn't see them but heard and was told they be there by a friend.
My recommendations. Lobsters rolls, your choice of the fried slider order from the appetizer section or the main dishes your "Normal" one. And no my bread was not burned (bases on another person's experience) but the bread was not finished cause feeling full of too much complimentary bread (taste nice and soft like the Hawaiian rolls).
Don't forget the mussels in the white sauce (matrd). But mussels could be bigger and/or plump then served in a deeper bowl rather than skillet (scared it was hot and took a lot of table space). We didn't have one unopened piece which was on a good note.
Dessert picks - I think it was like a chocolate or vanilla cake mix? Like marble? And the lime pannicota cause it is so pretty for an ig picture.
Thank you for making our celebration night great.
